Creating a haunted house the size of ours takes a TON of work. Before Halloween even ends, I'm already thinking of a new theme for next year, drawing up plans and scouting stores and the web for new props and masks. By the time February rolls around, I'm already putting a build schedule together for the next several months. Props are built as I have time and come summertime, the basement is already a mess. Come Labor Day weekend, the garage build begins and we're on our way.
We have so many props, boxes and other stuff stored, that it takes a long time to bring it all out. I insist on packing it all up after Halloween within a week, so we can move on to the next holiday.
