behind the scenes

Some rare photos of the haunt in progress and all that has to happen for it to work. Most of these are from 2006 and 2007, when I had time to take a lot of in progress photos. Click on the image to see a larger version.

My hidden hallways are usually tight due to the size of the garage.
This is the small hallway where I would open the drop window scare.
My computer setup and control area for the 2008 haunt.

You can see the camera hard drive on the CPU in the 2008 setup.
I started putting a sign on the corner of Coventry Drive.
Ned was always a big fan of my haunted houses. R.I.P. Ned.

Figures just standing around waiting for body parts and such.
Cover your eyes! Naked zombies don't like to be seen.

Sometimes, props are being built on the fly while walls are going up.

If I don't get my tools out before the walls go up, I'm out of luck.
Supplies stored behind the walls. It's amazing that it all fits.
Walls are stacked on the opposite side until it all gets built.
The asylum cages were made from old recycled pallets I got for free.
One of the power outlets is on the ceiling. Nice, but hard to get to.
Wiring is also very tricky. Lots of cables to power props and lights.
In 2009, I built out an entry, but it didn't work as well I thought.
