What is Scarefest?

We are strictly a HOME HAUNT and I either buy or build all of our props. The ideas come mainly from things I've seen in other places, but I usually put my own unique spin on them. When I first started out, things were pretty bland. Now I design and build most of my 'sets' from scratch. Every year is a new theme and I try to involve all or most of the characters I have (60+ masks or heads as of 2010). Every year it gets bigger and bigger and the crowd has grown in the 5 years we've held it in Middletown. Word seems to be traveling by word of mouth...

Scares and Target Ages

Our haunts are aimed at kids about 8-9 and older. Some may be too scared to enter, so an adult should accompany them if there's any doubt. Most of our scares involve scary faces, startling noises and maybe an occasional live actor. Nothing will grab you (unless you touch any of the props, of course). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Smile...You're on Camera!

THERE ARE SOME STARTLING SOUNDS AND SIGHTS IN OUR HAUNTS, but our haunts are equipped with a camera system, so we can tone things down if we see a younger group entering. We're always watching...(kinda goes with this year's theme, huh?)

As you enter, look around you... do you feel like you're being watched? You are. Is your presence welcome? Maybe. Maybe not. Will you get out alive? That depends on you. Test your nerve and walk among The Watchers...

directions

We're located in Middletown, MD just outside of Frederick. Take I-70 West to exit 49 (Alt-40) and turn left at the light. Go about 3½ miles and turn left on Middletown Parkway (there's a Safeway in the strip mall on the right at that light). Turn right onto Holter Road when Middletown Parkway ends. Go up the hill and turn right onto Coventry Drive. We're at #7317. You can't miss us.
